It’s been months since I’ve got out on the ocean to do some fishing, and it’s just starting to get on my nerves. That’s one problem about living down in Victoria, I have no place to store my boat, so getting out on the water isn’t as easy as when I lived on Quadra Island. Up there, I just drop the boat in the water and I’m gone for as long as I want. This is a picture of a 21.5 lb salmon my dad caught last April. We had left the dock around 6:30 am and headed to our morning fishing hole. After a couple of hours with no bites we decided to go to a place with a very low chance of catching a salmon. We made one pass along the rocks and turned back into open water. Within seconds he was into this gem. After a good fight we landed the fish and headed in. That’s why I love fishing, even if you catch nothing it was a good day, but some times you get lucky in the most unlikely of spots and it tops the day off.
