Logan came down to Victoria this past weekend to do some skating. He’s been skating for a little over 3 months and when I say skating, I’m  talking about really learning the basics, not riding down hills sitting on the board as a little kid, like many of us once did. Friday the weather cooperated and Logan bagged at least six basic tricks such as, nose bleeds, ollie over the line, pivots, body varials, dragging the foot down steep hills and step off under flips. The kid was so pumped, at 9:30 am the following morning, he was ready to rip once again. Unfortunatly, the weather decided not to cooperate. So just like I did when I started to skate, a small car port became the practice ground. Sunday was pretty much the same, however the pure excitment this kid showed when learning the idea of a trick and then landing it was worth every minute standing out in the cold watching him succeed.

I took this shot last year up in Gold River. This bear was a bigger one than the ones I’d seen prior. I’ll remember this square off forever.

This is a little bird that smacked into the window this past weekend. My dad went out and picked it up off the ground and gave it a safe place to chill while it recovered. About 2 seconds after this picture, the bird had recovered enough to fly away.

Adam St. John lets a cast go on very brisk fall morning at Muchalat Lake, near Gold River.

A few good old boys and I decided to go up Muchalat Lake, just past Gold River, for the weekend. This is a shot taken at around 10pm. The moonlight was so bright it made the lake look like mid day coated with stars. ISO 3200, SS 30 sec.

This past weekend, a few of us went to the San Juan river for  a night. We put the canoes in at the Burnt Bridge and finished at Fairy Lake. I’m guessing it’s about 10km, but we left at about 3pm and hit Fairy Lake right at sundown, which made the paddle seem longer. The trip down the river was awesome. Coho salmon were running up the river as we came down and the all around experience was so peaceful. This is  a shot of Matt Kelley perfecting his J-Stroke near the end of the day.

This is a shot my godson took while we were campnig this summer. The dogs name is Chi Chi and no word of a lie, this thing snores like a human and grunts like a pig. Very cute, but also very loud.

This little guy came up behind me while I was talking to my dad on the edge of the garden. The deer didn’t seem to care about being so close and even posed for me.
